COMMERCIAL SOLAR SYSTEM SIZING
Do you work for a large California business that wants to go solar but is not sure how to go about sizing your commercial solar system? How do you know how much energy your business is using?
The first step in the process in sizing your company’s solar system is determining how much energy your business uses. You can do this by looking at all twelve month’s electric utility bills and seeing how many kilowatt hours (kwh) the business consumed in that year. We also have a service called Utility API that can simplify this process by allowing us to access your energy data directly from the utility with your company’s authorization. It only takes a couple of minutes!
The second step in sizing your company’s solar system is to use a satellite software tool called Helioscope. With Helioscope we can analyze your facility’s roof or parking lot without ever visiting the facility! (All commercial solar proposals are bid “indicative”, meaning they will be finalized after site visit, which takes place after contract execution). These two tools help commercial solar project developers like BCSC LLC quickly evaluate whether a project is worth pursuing.

Once we have your company’s annual electrical load figure, we can potentially build a commercial solar system to produce enough solar energy to offset almost all of the energy charges on your company’s electrical bill (this will be determined by how much roof space or available parking lots you have available to install the solar panels on). Keep in mind if your business is in manufacturing, cold storage, or has a very high electrical load, the solar system will only reduce, not eliminate these charges.
